2010年4月14日晨，我国青海省玉树县连续发生了两次地震，其中最强震级达到里氏7.1级，地震震中就位于县城附近。突如其来的灾难给玉树县及周边地区造成重大人员伤亡和财产损失，给灾区人民带来了巨大的创伤和痛苦。目前，全国人民纷纷向灾区人民伸出援手，竭尽全力帮助灾区人民重建家园。

这场灾难不仅震撼了全国人民的灵魂，也深深牵动着西南交通大学的来华留学生们的心。来自巴基斯坦、卢旺达、叙利亚、贝宁等近30个国家的留学生积极行动，自发组织捐款献爱心活动，支持灾区人民抗震救灾、重建家园。留学生们还在网络上积极向他们所在国的朋友、家人介绍地震情况，积极募捐。

留学生们表示，中国人民是特别友好的，他们在西南交通大学学习也得到老师同学无私的关心和帮助。没人可以预料到灾难的发生，但无论如何，他们一定会与灾区人民站在一起，并希望有一天能前往灾区，以一名志愿者的身份帮助灾区人民。他们坚信：慈善和帮助是对疾病和灾难最好的治疗，我们一定能克服苦难，战胜灾难，重建家园。

西南交通大学留学生此次自发组织的募捐活动，体现了博大的国际主义精神。截至5月6日，在校来华留学生捐款总计人民币1405元整。国际处将该笔捐款上缴学校相关部门，并转达留学生们的爱心。

Condolence and Feelings for Earthquake Victims

We the International Students of Southwest Jiaotong University would like to share our feelings to the citizens of P.R. China and particularly to the sufferers of this unforgettable natural disaster of !April!s Earthquake!. In fact, we the humans cannot predict such tragedies but we can face them with great determination, strength, patience and unity.

With this truth: !CHARITY and ALMS are the best treatment for AILMENTS and CALAMITIES!, we would express our feelings along with a small amount of donation for the victims of this unpleasant incident.
